sing to me honey

i miss my uke:(

friends i made while taking a walk!

let me do you justice

made this dress out of fabric from a scarf.
white tights say something romantic about them. granted, if worn the wrong way one would end up looking like a disproportionate 5year old. i still love it.

back from the dead.

catching up on some fav blogs made me realize how much i miss blogging.. and stuff. im suuure you guys missed me too. i've also realized how much i love winter. usually i hate the painful sting of the cold but this year especially i've really enjoyed taking walks and hanging out with the stray cats i made friends with in my neighborhood. however it does make me extremely lazy and slowed down. which has been reflected in the clothes i've recently been wearing.. billowy silhouette dresses and tights. i find loose fitting dresses soo comfortable yet still pretty awesome.

like this one...

pretty much hung out at barnes and nobles today.

my mind is a black hole

ughhh. currently in the process of moving my stuff out of my dorm. i absolutely hate moving. mostly because it requires organizing all my things and i epitomize the meaning of messy. finals are almost done and my brain is very close of exploding.

kill me

what an unproductive day. weeks seem to be getting longer and work only keeps growing. i spent most of the day at the library trying desperately to come up with a research topic for my anthropology class. of course not really getting anywhere. i was suppose to go to a workout session with my friend that of course also i decide to bail on.

i finally found a semi-decent bag for my laptop...

Coffee stains seeped on paper bits
Letters of red ink scribbled in
Never was anything too coherent
But this red ink was clear as grit

Paper bits waited through silence
Words then flew all shapes and sizes
The light in the window fades to black
But this red ink stays all unblemished

As the days become years
As starched white turns yellow
These edges deteriorated with every stumble
This red ink still states truth of love

The day came when red ink was condemned
Ripped and marred and stripped of meaning
Red ink was blotted and unwritten
Stolen away from its lovely destination

But you see red ink was more than a story
It was beautiful truth left out for prey
That imperfect coffee stained work
It was love unforgiven

tagged?

so there is this whole tagging business going around... i was tagged by peave.love.style

6 little tid bits about me.

1) iam an extreme misanthropist. i distrust anything from/of mankind.i think there is only a fraction of things the world offers that isnt fake, artificial, or self-seeking. its true.

2) i have a thing for men's flannel shirts. i literally have like 15 and sometimes i wear them to sleep. oh, feel free to send me free clothes.

3) iam extremely inarticulate when it comes to having a conversation and it gets sooo frustrating at times. when iam trying to talk its like there are a million voices screaming in my head that i cant think properly put together words. my brain fails me at life.. a lot. but on paper, iam actually really coherent.

4) if i had a superpower, i'd want the ability to physically see through the eyes of anyone i choose at any given moment.

5) looking back at my unstable childhood, i think i turned out exceptionally well... i think.

6) iam a really really awkward person. hah somtimes i pull an awkward situation just to humor myself. lol iam actually quite infamous for pulling this quirk.

sooo.. i tag you. yes YOU, the one reader who actually reads this.
rules:
Here are the rules:1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules in your blog.

burning bridges

blitzed midnight bonfires left us feeling nostalgic. Birthday rendezvous, bittersweet.. no turning back.
Pretty eventful night. im on a misson to better myself/my life. last few months have not been the best moments of my life. its like i've fell in this hole and all this chaos has only caused me to dig myself deeper and deeper in. now iam on this process to extract myself from my own doings.

day: some serious errand running

boring

really tiring day. i was at the library till 2 am craming. chem=death. woke up late for class at 12pm. and kinda just threw clothes on me. school seems to be taking over every ounce of evergy in me. i tring not to let this happen though. so i schduled my time so i can other things to do in a day. i've decided im going to start going to the gym. living on campus i get free access to the gym, might as well start using it right? the weather was a little warmer than yesterday so i threw in some shorts. exams are over for a while so couple friends of mine drove down to georgetown to walk around and shop.

with gladiators

curry in a hurry :)

growing up in a traditional indian household certainly has its advantages. forexample, the awesome home cooked indian food my fridge is constantly stocked with, everything from chicken curry to deserts marinated in syrup sweeter than sugar itself. aside from these tongue-tingling tasters, i also get to experience the wicked aesthetics of the country. everything from the beautifully built architecture, to the widest array of colorful clothing, to the breath takingly gorgeous jewelry. a lot of times when i find myself bored i go digging around my moms old clothes and come across a beautiful salwar top or an intricately woven cotton scraf. and so i did this weekend and came across this top. it was a little too big on me so i altered the sides a bit and voila..

if you cant tell from the picture iam wearing dark skinnies and glads.
haha obv. im going through a phase with this necklace.

save the whales!

i've always had this deep desire to be a hippie. somthing about frolicking in a field of daisies with a soft floral dress, and the unkempt hair just makes me smile. so after the worst week of college yet, with the exams and the innumerable papers due, i was on edge for some retail therapy. and so i did, i found this adorable pistacio green skirt. the moment i laid my eyes on it, i felt my life was finally complete. i might have even let out a yelp of joy because the girl standing next to me gave me the most awkward stare. so i grabbed the skirt and a couple v-necks on sale. another obsession of late.. vnecks, they are so versatile yet adorable. perfect for those lazy days when your brain is not functioning well enough to think of anything interesting to wear, which i have been having a lot lately.

so fellow reader i leave you with my new found love of my life...

i wear that chain way too much. you know you love it.

I just got home for springbreak wooooooooooo. as you can tell im pretty psyched about this break this week should be awesome. me and a friend of mine are planning on taking a road trip up to NY. we'll see how things turn out.

but tonight, me and some of my friends who i havnt seen in ages because they go to school 800 miles away are venturing downtown to find ourselves something to do, watch a movie, pop into a party if we hear of one. spontaneity is always fun... except when you wake up and find yourself in the middle of the woods with only one shoe on. not too pleasant. but tonight should be aewsome.
its getting warmer so i had to pull out the skirts. that makes me extremely happy!!!

'cuse the dirty mirror :)
leave me nice comments

give me sunshine and flowers!

i've been meaning to write somtething in this thing, i made it a while ago but never quite got around to it. i just want a place to share my inspiration. i guess i should introduce myself, my name is cynthia and iam kind of reallly awesome.
right now im just psyched for spring to come already! iam so sick of all the layers of clothing and big heavy coats. i just want to put on a light printed summery dress and dance around on the sunkissed medows. and of course you cant mention printed dress without picturing misha barton.

i Love this look the laid back hippie, misha pulls it off well, down to the chain link bag and the snake bracelet. perfection

a bit too simplistic for my taste but none the less, really adoreable. i actually picked up a similar fitting dress the other day from forever 21. i think the fit is very flattering on any body type

this picture does it for me. I need to go dress shopping.

saturday i went to a local show it was pretty rad. some really good bands. i was totally in season denial i decided to wear a vest despite the 30 degree weather outside. im usually totally against animal print, somehome this outfit works for me. i pretty much live in these converses, they are totally boss, the best purchase i've made in a long time.
